I don't remember taking this photo. I don't remember my camera turning sideways and my finger slipping onto the shutter button. However, I remember seeing houses like those all throughout my trip in southern Germany. After noticing this photo on my camera, it's become one of my favorite. I find the off-balance division line, soft colors, and straight-lined angles very harmonious. I keep thinking of this photo as a canvas that has been composed into a work of art. But in reality, this photo was an accident, a scene I would never see if I didn't have a camera with me.
So many things become noteworthy only after time has passed, after they can be seen in a new way. A new perspective gives meaning to what previously seemed plain and normal.
